On Wednesday June 15th EOC Group was granted the Charter for Sustainable Business by VOKA (Flanders’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry – East Flanders Division). This charter is presented yearly to local companies that actively and constantly strive for improvement with special attention to legislation concerning environment, welfare and society.
Over the past years, EOC Group has been granted the Environmental Charter six times and we have always valued this certificate. For 2015, however, we wanted to extend our sustainability efforts to every aspect of our business. These efforts were monitored by a team of independent experts in the areas that are covered by the charter. These themes included a.m. the inclusion of sustainability in corporate policy, sustainable management of raw materials and social engagement.
On Wednesday June 15th at PAC Ghent, Jozef Dauwe, Representative for East-Flanders and authorized in the matters of the Environment, presented the certificates to participating entity. Three entities in Evergem (EOC Belgium Adhesives Division, EOC Belgium Latex II Division and EOC Surfactants) and one in Oudenaarde (EOC Belgium – EOC Management) were rewarded with the Charter for Sustainable Business. Environment Manager Marc Pierloot and Operations Managers Rita De Temmerman, Bruno De Wilde and Gunther Moens represented EOC Group and accepted the certificates in behalf of the company.
We are proud that the work of everyone within the EOC Group is valued with this certificate and that the steps we have taken can be an example for other companies. We also consider this an opportunity to further invest in economic development, social progress and environmental responsibility.
